About this blog

Welcome to my blog! I’m Corina Evelyn, and I’m a food and travel blogger, and writer in my spare times. If you want to know more about me and why I blog, head over to the ABOUT CORINA  page first.

This blog is all about my life experiences, travels, living abroad and sharing things I enjoy. I will also be recommending good places to eat, especially in my hometown, São Paulo, Brazil. There’ll be also a page in which I post in Portuguese as I like to write about my daily routine.

I’ve been travelling since 2012 and just stopped for a year in 2018 because I’ve got hired and had to wait a year to get my work holidays and also save money. My last trip was on February of 2019, to UK, Pakistan, Qatar and Netherlands for about 20 days. I went to Pakistan for a friend’s muslim marriage that I met in Belfast (2014). It was a 4 days wedding celebration in Karachi, where I’ve stayed for 10 days, and extended the trip to meet some friends in UK and Qatar. Netherlands were just 2 days exploring around. I’ll be telling the stories here in the posts as soon as I can.

I wish I could travel more often but at the moment I’m more focused about my career and life goals. I’ll probably be planning a travel per year if I can, but from now on, I’ll be posting the experiences I had in the past years. If you want to see photos of the places I’ve been, check my Instagram @corinaevelyn.

My way of travelling is about exploring around more like a local than a tourist. Usually, the only plan I make is flight tickets, hotels, hostels and when it’s possible I manage to meet friends. I usually arrive at the place and go with the flow. I like to be surprised by the cultural experiences, meeting locals and trying new foods. And by consequence, I end up knowing myself better. So it’s more like about living, finding and reinventing myself.

My mission is to learn with life, to know the world and its people, in order to learn not only their customs and cultures but develop resilience. Travel opened my mind and brought me new goals and new horizons, it definitely made me stronger and more courageous. I blog mainly about experiences, adventures, food, culture and journeys that made me who I am now.

I had my first ‘most viewed’ blog ‘Koko For The World’ in 2012, where I used to share my favourite restaurants and places around São Paulo along with some information of the city. As I lived abroad for about 2 years and didn’t have time to update it, I ended up putting it down and creating instead, an Instagram account, where I started to share places some months ago, if you want to check it: @kokofortheworld

The purpose of that blog was to share places with some international friends due to the WorldCup 2012 as I was lazy enough to tell each one of them about the good places around. And it end up kind of famous for tourists coming to São Paulo for about 2 years. There were people visiting the blog from many places around the world.

Koko For The World

Well, that blog was a success with more than 13.000 visits! For me that was amazing!!! I was surprised and really happy! However, my life started changing after I studied English in Fort Lauderdale, USA in 2012. I’ve got addicted to travelling.

From 2012 to 2016 I lived in 5 countries out of Brazil and after staying abroad for so long I decided putting it down. I didn’t want to give people the wrong information. But now I finally came back to São Paulo and I decided to start it all over again. This time I’ll be posting not only about São Paulo but stories of my life and travels.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you enjoy!!
